Is Wes Welker to blame for the Pats' Super Bowl loss?
Absolutely not. You could blame the pats D for not recovering any fumbles, or hernandez, or most of all brady. He made more mistakes then most other players. The pass behind a wide open branch that could have gotten them 40 yards, or thinking he had a better arm than he did and underthrew a wide open gronk for a would-be touchdown. But most of all, the pats lost because their D couldn't stop the giants on 3rd down & the opposite could be said about the giants. They lost because they were outplayed not one person's mistakes.

The loss is not his fault but that drop sure did contribute. As an NFL WR, if you get two hands on a ball, it needs to be caught. No excuses. But in terms of the game, there are no guarantees the Pats win if he catches that. They would get a first down with and opportunity to put up a sure FG but only a potential TD. But neither of those is a sure fire bet. Plenty of blame can go around on the Pats, it wasn't just one guy.
